Medicare is a US federal health insurance program that serves:

people 65 years old or older
some younger people that have disabilities
people with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD - permanent kidney failure)

Medicare Part A - is health insurance that covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.

Medicare Part B - is medical insurance that helps to pay for doctor services, outpatient hospital care, durable medical equipment, and some medical services not covered by Part A.
